NORTH NIBLEY STANCOMBE PARK

8/129 The Studio
GV II

Studio. c1860 for Rev. David Edwards. Ashlar limestone brick
chimney; Welsh slate roof. Single-storey. Rectangular studio
room with tripartite sash window with stone flat arch on front
elevation having marginal glazing bars and stained glass.
Continuous moulded entablature. Cut-outs at corners have single
Roman Doric column to each with pilaster responds. North west side
has central doorway with stone flat arch and 6-panel door.
Interior not inspected. Lean-to additions to east are not of
special interest. Disused at time of survey (October 1985).
Groups with Parker's Lodge and Doric Temple (q.v.). One of a
sequence of features in the very extensive Regency and early
Victorian landscaped park and pleasure garden.
