House and stable adjoining. C16 and later (on Clintons Estate
map of 1588 in HRO). Long, one and a half storeys, timberframed,
weatherboarded, facing S with steep thatched roof, half-hipped at
E. C18/C19 2 storeys part at W, timberframed, plastered with
shingle roof. Clay lump stable with steep corrugated iron roof
adjoining on W end. Lobby entry, 3-unit plan of older part.
Central chimney one-third of the way from the W end. Inner room
at E rebuilt at higher level forming step in plinth on N.
Straight braces to chamfered beams. Small dormers on S wall
plate, double dormer to chamber over hall. Modern entrance door
on N side next to E corner. Modern lattice leaded casements and
plank doors. Later W part has internal gable chimney, 3-light
C19 casement window on upper floor, 2-light Yorkshire casement on
Ground floor, and a 4-panel flush beaded door under flat hood on
shaped brackets. Weatherboarded, pantiled, C19, single storey,
gabled, rear extension. Stable has clay lump 20" x 8". Hay loft
over. The W part was probably a separate property.
