Houses and attached warehouse, now shops. Mid C18, altered C19
and C20. Coursed roughly squared sandstone with ashlar
dressings and slate roofs.
The warehouse at the right was originally of 4 storeys with
projecting quoins at the right. On the ground floor is an mid
C20 shop front, framed by a timber fascia and pilasters, and
with a recessed steel bow window; to the left is a separate
entrance door. The central loading slot has projecting quoins,
and has stone corbels at 2nd and 3rd floor levels. It is now
filled by steel-framed glazing in small panes. To the right
are 2 narrower staircase windows with stone surrounds, one
above the other on the 1st and 2nd floors.
The 2 former houses at the left have double-depth plans, each
with a rear wing to the left, and are of 3 storeys. The ground
floors have late C19 shop fronts, with recessed doorways. The
upper windows have painted stone surrounds. No.18 has 3 sashes
without glazing bars on the 1st floor and sashes with glazing
bars on the 2nd floor. No.20 has C20 joinery on the first
floor and Victorian 4-pane sashes on the second floor.
