5/157 4 gate piers and railings forming
screen between west elevation of
G.V. Orangery and east elevation of
Stable Block

Gate piers and railing gates. Early C19. Rusticated limestone ashlar,
limestone and cast iron. Each square pier has plinth, rusticated ashlar about
4 metres high, flat top with moulded edge, surmounted by fluted urn on plinth with
ball finial. Central piers have spear-headed railing gates, similar screen
between 2 piers to right, similar smaller gate between 2 piers to left, smaller
screen between pier to left and Stable Block. (Sources: Verey, D. : Buildings
