Stable block. Early C18, red brick, tiled and hipped roof. 2
storeys. A S facing rectangular block with lower wings on N.
4:1:4 windows. Segmental-arched central carriageway with
pilasters, 1st floor fixed sash window and plain pediment. Sides
with end pilasters and deep wooden modillion cornice. Chequered
floor band. Ground floor 6/6 original sashes and 1st floor,
fixed, 9 pane windows. Central, wood clock tower; an octagonal
peristyle of fluted pilasters on weatherboarded base with
modillion cornice and ogee leaded dome, surmounted by ball and
wrought iron weathervane. Scrolled, wrought iron double gates to
S side of archway and large, wooden, 8-panel doors to each side
of passage. N wings are later C18, one and a half storeys. E
side has 3, hipped, louvred dormers, and moulded bresummer to
Ground floor stable entrance. W side with 4 dormers to
courtyard, tile-hung on sides, and various modern windows. Road
elevation has moulded wooden cornice, a louvred and a hipped roof
attic.
