The Manor House

G.V. II

3 attached cottages, formerly the Manor House. C16 core with C18 and
C19 re-facing. Stone walls, rendered. Slate roof with stone gable
copings. 4 rendered stacks at ridge; one at each gable end, one at
centre (party wall), one at centre of right hand house. Complete
elevation: 2 storeys, 6 windows, sashes with C19 marginal glazings.
Front doors: left at centre, C18; centre cottage at left hand side, C18
with flush panels; French window at centre of right hand cottage.

Interior of left cottage: ground floor, left room, open fireplace with
moulded stone jambs and Tudor-arch head with recessed spandrels, C16.
Mid-chamfered ceiling beams, C17. Evidence of C16 roof-construction under
the present roof. 3 trusses survive, with mortices for collars. Not
supporting the present roof. "RCHM, Dorset I", p 89 (6).
