Chest tomb. Dated 1777 and 1821. Sandstone. Moulded cornice to flat top.
Inscription on west side to Michael Thorne (d. 7th January 1777, aged 71) and Mary
his wife, and inscription on north side to Joseph Thorne (d. 11th May 1821, aged 69)
and Mary his wife. Inscription to south: "Two tender Parents in one Grave lie) /
Whose chiefest care in life was Heaven to Gain./Hence they the Peaceful Paths of
Virtue trod:/And with united fervour serv'd their God.
To follow them - their Offspring Try/And learn like them to live to live like them to
Die."
