ST 77 NE TORMARTON C.P. THE STREET (south side)

School house, now house. Early C19 with later C19 and C20 additions and
alterations. Limestone rubble with stone dressings, ashlar, stone tiled roof
with gable and ridge stacks. 2 storeys and 6 windows, 4 bays to left of earlier
date with raised long and short quoins, 2 bays to right also with similar quoins;
to left canted bay through 2 storeys in ashlar, 3 sashes at ground and first floor,
hipped roof; to right, two 16-pane sashes and central 6-pane light (formerly
door), three 16-pane sashes under eaves; small gabled porch to right has door
with raised fillets and 4-pane fixed light to front; cupola on main roof with bell
louvres and hipped stone tiled roof. To right, bay with 2-light casement with
flat mullion at ground and first floor, to far right a late C20 bay with garage
door and similar window at first floor. Rear has two 2-storey wings, to right
with 2-span roof, further 2-storey flat roofed addition to left; varied windows,
all C20 sashes and casements with glazing bars, conservatory attached to left.
