MARSTOW CP SO 51 NE 8/95 Out-building immediately north-east of New Court Farmhouse

Kitchen and granary, now store. Probably C18. Sandstone rubble with Welsh slate and corrugated iron roofs; brick stack. L-plan with two-bay arms to south and west. Cellar, one storey and attic. West elevation has corrugated iron roof to lean-to on left-hand side and gable front to right. The centre of the first floor of the gable has a square-headed doorway with ledged door reached by a two-flight stone tallet stair which rises towards the east and returns southwards from a landing. Beneath the upper flight is a semi-circular headed arch leading to ground-floor entry. Interior has basement in falling ground to east containing mid-C19 cast-iron range. Collar trusses without struts. Subterranean passage is said to link the out-buildings with New Court Farmhouse (qv). (RCHM Vol I, p 199).
