House, now hotel. C18, remodelled and extended c1840. Stuccoed brick and
sandstone rubble with concrete tile and Welsh slate roofs; brick stacks.
Roughly rectangular plan aligned north-east/south-west. Two storeys and
attics. North-west elevation has three windows, glazing bar sashes; ground
floor windows have architraves, recessed aprons and consoles supporting
simplified cornices. Central porch has two pairs of fluted columns with
Ionic capitals, and early C20 glazing. To the right is a low two-storey
service wing. North-east elevation has full-height canted bay with glazing
bar sashes to each storey. South-east elevation has eposedx C18 brick core
with dentilled brick eaves cornice, partly masked by early C19 sandstone
rubble extension. Interior has three-flight open well staircase with enriched
cast-iron balusters and mahogany hand rail. South-east principal ground floor
room has early C19 cast-iron fireplace and baseket with frieze composed of
circular motifs.
