SU 67 SE THEALE THE CHASE (south side)

5/11 The Old Cottage

II

House. Late C16 and C17 with C20 additions. Timber framed with angle braces,
white painted brick nogging and partial refacing, white painted brick additions
and some first floor tile hanging to south. Old tile roof. L-plan with 2
framed bays to north and 2 framed bay gabled cross wing to south. 2 storeys.
East front: ground floor C20 rectangular bay to right with pentice roof, ridge
stack off-centre to right, and end stack to right. 2 first floor 2-light leaded
casements to left and one 3-light leaded casement to right. 2 ground floor 5-
light leaded casements to right, and C20 door in recessed porch to left. Central
first floor 2-light diamond leaded casement flanked by 2 one-light diamond
leaded casements in cross wing to left, and 2 ground floor 3-light diamond
leaded casements beneath with 5-light diamond leaded casement in lean-to to
left. 1 storey C20 garage block to left.
