House. 1904 by Guy Dawber. Coursed limestone rubble with stone slate roof.
A symmetrical composition with projecting one-bay cross-wings and a recessed
centre which has one bay to each side of a two-storey porch. Windows are
timber casements with plain reveals, projecting sills, and leaded glazing.
Above the first floor windows of the wings are segmental relieving arches.
Two hipped attic dormers. The outer porch doorway has a round arch with key-
stone and impost blocks, and alternate tile voussoirs. Above is a lozenge
panel with arms and motto: "Capiat Potes Qui Capere". The lintel of the
inner doorway is carved with the initials "HGC (Clegg)" and date "1903".
Chimneys have diagonal caps. (Gray, AS: Edwardian Architecture, 1985, p 160).
