House, now house and flats. Early C17, remodelled c1720. North and east wings, entrance hall and porch in Gothic style, 1868-77. Restored and remodelled c1987. Coursed squared rubble with ashlar and brick dressings, with hipped and gabled slate and plain tile roofs with 2 ridge stacks. Eastern entrance front has plinth and quoins. 3 storeys; 3 window range of 18 pane sashes, and above, three 6 pane sashes. Below, 3 plain sashes. To right, a single storey porch with parapet and datestone inscribed "C G B 1876". Tudor arched double door with label mould. Right return with 3-light cross mullioned bay window. Above and behind, a cross range with a 3-light stone mullioned window, one light blocked, and above, a 6 pane sash in a chamfered surround. Left return has in the centre 2 early C18 wooden cross casements on the ground and first floors. On the first floor, to left, a blank and to right a renewed casement in a C18 stone surround. Above again, 3 stone mullioned casements and above them, 2 box dormers with 3-light casements. Rear has irregular fenestration with wooden cross casements and stone mullioned windows. To right and to rear of main block, double gabled 2 storey addition dated 1868. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and slate roof with a coped ridge stack. Plinth, coped parapet and shouldered coped gables. Central casement flanked to left by a mullioned window and to right by a blank. Pointed arched doorway flanked to right by a mullioned window. South east range, now Shalem House, has plinth, quoins, moulded string course, and stepped coped gable. Plain tile roof. North side has a capped stack and east gable has a large stack, both external. 2 storeys. To right, 2 C18 leaded casements and below, 2 C20 windows. South side has C20 fenestration. South west wing has several C17 loop windows. Parallel C19 brick range has segment headed sashes. Gabled west wing dated 1876 and 1877 has mullioned windows and cross casements. Interior has early C17 dogleg oak stair with intersecting string and turned balusters, with ball finials and drops. First floor room with bolection moulded wall panelling.
