Farmhouse. Late C17 (c.1680) with single-storey addition on left dated W.J/1797
possibly for William Jeffs. Main part. Squared coursed ironstone. Steeply
pitched but lowered slate roof. Brick end and ridge stacks, stack on ridge on a
chamfered stone base. 2-unit plan plus extension. 2 storeys, 2-window range.
Approximately central entrance reached via 3 semi-circular. stone steps and
flight of stone steps. Entrance has an original ledged and battened oak door,
4-centred arched head and hood mould with label stop. Entrance is flanked by
3-light metal casements inserted within stone surrounds. Hood mould and
label stops and a 3-light casement window with hood mould and label stops. Left
end has a 3-light ovolo mullion window. Left part. Single storey, 1 window.
Entrance to left has plank door and moulded wood doorframe and stop-chamfered
wood lintel. 3-light metal casement to right with wood lintel. Wrought-iron
casement fasteners and springs. Interior noted as having 4-centred arched stone
fireplaces, inglenook fireplaces and an early stud partition on ground floor.
