Chest tomb. C18. Limestone. Flat top with moulded edge, moulded base,
quarter balusters with moulded cornice, inscriptions north and south; to north,
paired shaped panels with central cherub with wings, trumpet and hourglass to
sides, egg and dart surround to panels, tuck-pointed lettering with verse in panel
to left. To George Toghill, 1783 and other members of the family. One of a
pair of monuments to the Toghill family, the other (q.v.) being 3 metres north.
