C18 group of 4 houses, No 83. Painted brick with hipped tiled roof. Side, hung
with slates. Appears to be 3 storeys but 1st floor blank. 2 windows, unbarred
sashes with moulded, flush frames. Early C20 shop front, Nos 84 and 85. A pair
of early C18 houses, No 84 stucco, No 85 painted brick, facade. Eaves cornice
and tiled roof. 2 wtoreys and 1 hipped dormer each. 2 windows each, sashes wih
flush frames, dormers with glazing bars, 1st floor unbarred, but with cambered
head linings Ground floor has advanced modern shop fronts. No 86. Early C18
house, continuous with No 85 although roof at slightly lower leveln Painted brick
facade, eaves cornice and modern tiled roof. 2 storeys and 1 hipped dormer with
early C19 casements, 2 windows below, sashes with flush frames and glazing bars.
Advanced modern shop front. (N.M.R.)

Nos 83 to 88 (consec) forms a group with Blake's Cottage and Nos 85b and flanking
buildings to east and west, (buildings of local interest).
