Pair of houses. c1845. Possibly by Walter Scott. Coursed and
squared rubble with Welsh slate roof. Simple Tudor style,
loosely symmetrical. 2 storeys with attic, each house a 2-unit
double-depth plan with storeyed porches at each end with
4-centred arched doorways. Park elevation has outer advanced
gables with canted bays, tripartite ground-floor sash windows
in central bays with cast-iron balcony in front of upper
12-pane sash windows. 2 high gabled dormers in the roof. Gable
and axial stacks, with octagonal shafts.
