1354-0/8/29 Coombe Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17 altered C19. Built of stone rubble with
red brick dressings. Slate roof with brick chimneystacks. 2
storeys and attics; 3 windows. Sashes with cambered head
linings. 1 C19 window with verticals only and horns. 2
tripartite windows to ground floor. Central gabled
weatherporch with slate roof. Rear elevation has 2 flat-roofed
dormers, 2 casements, 1 cambered headed sash and right side
doorcase with plank door. Later outshut. Interior contains
spine beams with lambs tongue stops and early C18 door with L
hinge. One of the original Domesday Manors and probably built
by the Barringtons of Swainston Manor.
