Early C19 adjoining houses. No 72 three storeys, three windows. Multicoloured stock brick with stucco frieze, cornice and parapet. Gauged, flat brick arches to recessed sash windows. Right hand window on first and second floors blocked. On ground floor mid-late C19 shop window, with modified dentil cornice resembling machicolation and ornamental cast iron grille below fascia. Windows altered to plate glass, but in old frames with panelled stallrisers below. Effigies of two greyhounds couchant on parapet and three lion masks at second floor level. Group value with No 74.
No 74 three storeys and basement, three windows. Multicoloured stock brick with parapet concealing roof. Gauged, flat brick arches to sash windows with glazing bars in stucco-lined reveals. Round headed door opening in round arched recess with stuccoed impost blocks. Door of six beaded panels, cornice head continuous with impost blocks, plain fanlight, stucco lined reveal. Mint condition except for loss of part of wrought iron area railing.
