Office built for Eastern Daily Press Newspapers. 1900 by E. Boardman.
Ashlar with granite plinth; slate roof. 3 storeys and attic; 5 first-
floor windows. Round-headed ground-floor arcade of 5 bays with panelled
double-leaf doors in centre and to 6 ft, both under fanlights with elaborate
wrought iron grilles. Passage arch to right. Moulded cornice. 3 square-
fronted bays on first and second floors. Mullioned and transomed windows
flanked by pilasters. Moulded eaves cornice. Two 2-light dormers. Hipped
roofs with spike finials to dormers and bays. Stone end chimneys and gable
parapets on kneelers. Date panels 1844 (left) and 1900 (right); date 1960
added to original blind central panel at time of restoration.
