Farmhouse. Early C18, porch inscribed Thomas White 1729. Front range faced with tile hanging on red brick base at front, other elevations red brick with tiled roof with white brick end chimneystacks. 2 storeys and attics, 3 windows. Gable ends with stone coping and kneelers. 2 gabled dormers with sliding sashes. Three C20 aluminium sash windows. Central brick porch with stone coping inscribed "Thomas White 1729". 8 panelled door. Left side has C19 cement rendered lean-to. L wing to rear is also probably early C18 but of stone rubble with ashlar quoins and white brick dressings. Tiled roof. One and a half storesy. Deep plinth. Gable end with kneelers and brick tumbling in. 1 sliding casement dormer and 3 casements. Interior of front part of house has staircase with splat balusters and chamfered beams with lambs tongue stops. Rear wing has open fireplace with wide cambered surround with keystone, breadoven and above a contemporary wooden mantelshelf on brackets with wooden pegs. One of the original Domesday manors which escheated to the Crown in 1075 following the rebellion of Roger de Breteuil. (C W R Winter: The Manor Houses of the Isle of Wight: 190; V C H: 173).
