Stable block. 1891 for Mr E B Barnard of Grove Lodge to North, a racehorse owner. Brick rough rendered with red tile roofs and rendered crow-stepped gables rising above roofs, and having ball finials on the bottom steps.

L-shaped stable block in Arts and Craft style, apparently Scottish in derivation. One and a half storeys centre with single storey ranges to East and West and return range, running South from West end. Each part marked off by the crow-stepped gables. Plain, pitch roofed, wooden louvres over lower ranges, but square tapered louvre, with wooden louvred stage above rendered base with projecting cornice. Gabled, bargeboarded, tiled roof tops louvred stage and has wrought iron finial. Small paned bullioned two-light, small, sash windows with 6/6 panes.

West range has three segmental headed stable doors breaking through eaves, with 18-paned fanlights above doors. Carved wooden hatchment on centre block 'AD 1891. EBB'. Stone roll moulding as string course across centre block continuing line of eaves of flanking buildings. Decorative iron plates in the form of a cross in regular pattern on external walls are anchorages for tethering rings on the inside.

Heavy bargeboards to South and West end gables. Sash windows recessed with 6/6 panes, with pair at West gable. North elevation to lane uninterrupted except for row of regularly spaced ventilators with an iron cross below each. Crow-stepped gable over loading door to central hay loft, with projecting hoisting-beam and recessed plank door.
