Houses. Late C18 with remains of C1500 timber-framed structure. Red brick
with timber spacers. Pantile roof. 2 storeys. 4 bays. No. 22 - Left-hand off-centre
partly glazed door. Shop window with simple pilasters and architrave and glazing
bars. 2 small casements at first floor. No.24:- right-hand door partly glazed.
Fluted pilasters, architrave and flat hood. 2 small casements at first floor.
Remains of C1500 structure:- large wall-posts of one truss rise to wall plate
level, empty mortices for windbraces run from the post to the wall-plate and at
the rear there are signs of a single-storey aisle. 2 crude posts rising from the
tie-beam are the remains of an original queen-post roof. This represents the
only example in Norwich of what was once a fully-framed building.
