DURSLEY LONG STREET ST 7598 (south side) 5/35 Nos 8 and 10 GV II
Former bank offices, now offices in row. c1815 for Edward Bloxsome's bank. Coursed rubble limestone, rendered to left hand bay of front and to side and rear; ashlar dressings; brick chimneys; plain tile roof. Three-storey; irregular plan around central lightwell. Front: 4-window fenestration in elevation curving at right-hand end; sashes on ground floor with round- arched heads and marginal lights; segmental-arched middle floor 16-pane sashes; 8-pane upper floor sashes all with plain keyed architraves; sills of middle floor linked by plain band. Oval- arched doorway to right with 6-panel fielded door and fanlight. Sash to ground floor at left end of facade replaced by late C19 or early C20 shopfront extending into No 12 Long street. No 12 is not of special interest. Hipped roof with simplified mutule brackets to projecting eaves. Blocked openings to rendered south west end elevation, except for single ground floor sash as front, and upper floor 12-pane sash. South-east elevation: 4-window 12-pane sash fenestration with stone flat arches. Interior not inspected. Forms part of group of buildings around churchyard. (A.
