Grand terrace of houses. 1865. John Johnson. Stucco. Slate mansards. 4 storeys, attic balustrades and basement. Each house 3 windows wide. Symmetrical composition; centre 3 houses and Nos l0 and 22 set forward slightly with rusticated quoins; segmental pediment to attic of centre house; first floor centre windows of each projecting house flanked by Ionic columns withsegmental pediment above. Rustication to ground floor. Projecting Doric porches, with rusticated bands to columns and balustraded parapets. Square-headed windows except to first floor where round headed. Architraves. Cornices to second floor windows. Sashes, plate glass. First floor console bracketed balustraded stucco balcony. Dentil cornice above first floor breaking forward over windows. Main rich console to bracketed cornice above third floor. Attic to centre 3 and projecting end houses and also to Nos 11, 12 and 13. Bracketed subsidiary cornice to attic (removed to 11, 12 and 13). Cast iron area railings. Integral part of grand planned layout.
