TL 1243 OLD WARDEN BEDFORD ROAD

Shuttleworth estate cottage. Plaque shows 1879 and Shuttleworth emblem.
Probably a reworking of an earlier building. Colourwashed roughcas over
timber frame. Applied timber frame decoration. Clay tile roof with bands of
fishscale tiles, and ridge cresting and finials. 2-room plan of one storey
and attics. SE elevation has 2 3-light cast iron lattice casements, flanking
C20 glazed door under sloping tiled hood. Integral gable end stack to RH.
Rear elevation has gabled dormer with 5-light lattice casement. Simple
moulded bargeboards. House linked to N outhouse by C20 block.
