GV II

Row of houses. Early/mid C19. Stock brick, channelled stucco to ground floor.
Four storeys and basement (Nos 39-41 with attic mansards). Each two windows
wide. Arched entrances to ground floor, except No 38 (square headed). Panelled
doors. Arched ground floor windows to Nos 36, 40 and 41. Otherwise square
headed windows, with gauged heads to 36-8; others with stucco architraves.
Continuous cast iron balcony to first floor. Stucco cornice above third floor.
Parapet. Cast iron area railings. Nos 42 and 43 considerably altered. Part of
group with rest of Montpelier Square.
