Former public library, now bank. Dated 1852 . Elizabethan style. Two storeys, red
brick, and stone dressings. Five windows wide. Centre and ends project. Three-light
stone mullioned and transomed windows. Diamond paned casements. Ground floor has
enriched 4 centred arched porch. Canted bay over with heraldic frieze, octagonal clock
turret rising above roof with ogival dome. Projecting bay windows to ground floor
of outer bays with battlements.
Elaborate stone coped Dutch gables with Gothic statue niches to outer bays. Slates.
Openwork parapet.
