House. Mid/late C17 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with red pantile roof.
Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic. 3-window range. Central, 4-light,
ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with king mullions. Similar, 2-light
flanking windows at first floor and 3-light window to ground floor right. C19
casement window, under wood lintel, to ground floor left. C20 door, under
renewed wood lintel, to left of centre. Roof dormer. Ashlar gable parapet to
left and brick and stone stacks at ends. Tall, stone, stack rising from half
gable, to rear. C19 lean-to extension to rear. Interior not inspected but
probably has remains of open fireplace. In 1782 it was recorded as a workhouse.
From the early C19 it was used as the Malsters Arms Public House.
