NY 62 SW KING'S MEABURN

School, dated 1831 with later extension to south. Coursed, squared rubble with
quoins. Graduated slate roofs; original building has stone chimney to north end
and small bellcote to south. Single storey, 4 bays overall. Blocked door in
north wall. On west side, the 3 semicircular-headed windows with glazing bars
have projecting keystones and an impost band to their stone surrounds; date
panel with inscription over central window. Extension has 3-light window with
stop-chamfers to mullions and surround. Late C20 flat-roofed addition on east
side not included.
