Stables. Early C18. Limestone rubble with wooden lintels; Stonesfield-slate and
corrugated-metal roofs. Single range of 2 builds. Taller left half has a stable
door flanked by 2 small windows and has a central loft door: lower section has a
further stable door plus a plank door adjoining a 3-light casement. Roof has a
stack to right. Blocked dovecote in left gable. Interior: taller section has 2
collar trusses linked by queenposts to dropped tiebeams, and has 2 rows of butt
purlins. Lower range has a collar truss and a tiebeam truss, and the loft floor
extends over the room in extreme right, entered from the gable wall, which has a
large fireplace, stone sink and panelled shutters. Part of a group of
contemporary farmbuildings (q.v.). Included for group value.
