12/276 The Thatched House

GV II

Detached House. C17 with major early C19 refashioning. Rendered
(Stone) walls, incised with coursing. Thatch roof, hipped at both
ends. Stacks: at left hand eaves, rendered; brick, left of centre.
1½ and 2 storeys. 5 windows, 2-light wooden casements with marginal
glazings. Wooden cills. One single-lighter, early C20. Front door,
right of centre with 4 recess panels and 2 top lights, C19. Elliptical
fanlight with glazing-bars. Moulded architraves and reveals with
reeding to door lintel. Interior: deep-chamfered ceiling-beam in
right hand room.
