1837. Developed together with "Portville" by Samuel Gundry junior, one of
the twine manufacturing dynasty. Stucco. Pitched slate roofs with elaborately
carved bargeboards and finials to gable ends. 2 storeys and basement. 3
light casements with fancy glazing bars and hoodmoulds. Gabled porch with
vine-lead trellis work, cusped bargeboards and cruciform finial. 4 wooden
shields applied to north wall. Central octagonal stack ornamented with blind
Gothick arcading.
Nos 48 to 56 (even), The coachhouses and stables of Nos 48 to 56 the dwarf wall and
gates to the front gardens, of Nos 48 to 62, No 62, No 64 and No 64A form a group.
