School, now house. 1787 for Rev. John Farrer, vicar; C19 wing. Thinly-rendered
roughly-coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar quoins and some dressings; other
dressings brick; pantiled roof has 2 rows of stone slates at eaves, stone ridge
tiles, left stone kneeler and gable coping, rendered stacks. 2-storey, 3-bay
main block with projecting central 3-storey tower; projecting left wing of 2
low storeys, one bay. Tower has 6-pane window under flat brick arch, to right
of centre on ground floor, central round-headed window with glazing bars and
brick arch on first floor and cross-loop on second floor. Flanking bays have
paired narrow sashes under flat brick arches on ground floor; blocked first
floor windows, that at right with flat brick arch. Left wing has small square
ground-floor window, and central late C19 sash on first floor, under flat stone
lintels. Pyramidal tower roof; end chimneys. Right return of tower has 4-panel
door in later porch.

Interior: dog-leg stair in tower has carved graffiti revealed on second flight.
Some 2-panel doors.
