2/172 Portland Cottage

GV II

Detached Cottage. Early C17. Chalk block walls with lias stone quoins and
some flint banding. Thatch roof with gable ends, rendered south gable. C20
brick stacks at each gable. 1½ storeys. 3 windows, 3-light wooden casements
with horizontal glazing-bars, wooden lintels over, concrete cills. 3 large
eyebrow dormers, wooden casements. Front door at centre, flush-panelled with
9 top lights, C20. Continuous outshut at north end, for half of rear wall.
