Farmhouse on promontory formed by Little Nookton Burn. 2 builds, dated 1619
and 1679 on lintels. Sandstone rubble, part thinly rendered, with large quoins
and part of boulder plinth visible at right end. Stone-flagged roof. Older
part, probably original farmhouse, one tall storey, 2 bays, through-passage
type; left addition 2 storeys, 2 bays. Irregular oak lintel over empty doorway
in second bay; some alternate-block jambs and lintel inscribed TEW 1679 to
blocked door with window inserted in third bay; similar lintel, inscribed TEW
1619, on large irregular-block jambs, with roll moulding and moulded chamfer,
to Tudor-arched doorway in fourth bay. Left part has wood lintel to ground-
floor window opening, and flat stone lintels and sills to first-floor openings.
Quoins and first-floor windows C19. Low-pitched roof with end chimneys on 2-
storey part. Empty and used as hay store at time of survey.
