2 houses, now one. Circa 1863 by S.S. Teulon for Rev. Daniel Capper. Coursed
squared sandstone rubble with ashlar and yellow brick dressings; part of right
return shingle-hung; roof of diaper-patterned grey-blue and green slates.
Irregular plan. Front elevation of one and 2 storeys, 4 bays: 3-bay one-storey
part at left has double boarded door under 2-centred brick arch in gabled porch
to left; renewed wide window under label mould in second bay; gabled projecting
third bay has label mould over 5-light window with flat stone mullions. 2-
storey gabled fourth bay has 3-light diagonally- leaded iron casements under
label moulds. Steeply-pitched roofs have chimneys at front left and on right
return, and tall round chimney at left of 2-storey part. Right return has
prominent porch under hipped roof, with rear iron French windows; round turret,
in angle with porch, has tall conical roof. Interior: some original wrought-
iron door fittings; most doors and fittings replaced.
