Church 1833 with porch circa 1914. Sandstone with grey slate roof.
Nave, with undifferentiated chancel, of 5 bays. Stone bellcote with
short, square, concave spire, crenellated parapet and 2-light
bell-openings. Two single-light windows to west gallery, 2-light
windows in Perpendicular manner to sides of nave, 4-light east window
with battlemented transome. Strongly-expressed buttresses, with the
spire, give an individual character to a church of Commissioners'
type. The gabled porch has inscription to Canon Francis Coulman
Royle, Rector for 49 years to his death in 1913. North vestry.
Interior plastered, with panelled roof on timber arches, in
Perpendicular manner, on angel corbels. Contemporary oak altar rail.
Gallery on 3 "Perpendicular" arches of stone. Armorial bearings on
contemporary font.
