TM 36 SW GT. GLEMHAM THE GROVE

House. Dated 'JN 1796' on brick below ground floor window to right of main
doorway. White brick, slated roof. Mainly 2 storeys, part 2 storeys and
attic. 3 window range, sashes with glazing bars in cased frames, flat brick
arches; bracketed wooden cornice to eaves, ornamental wrought iron brackets to
gutters. Fine central doorway with inset 8-panel door, semi-circular fanlight
with glazing bars, panelled reveals; flanking pilasters and wooden columns on
heavy square bases with further panelling between them; large flat-roofed
portico on similar wooden columns. Left hand return front with full height 3-
light splayed bay, otherwise 4 window range; doorway with classical surround
and paired glazed doors; 2 lean-to greenhouses.
