Farmhouse, built in 2 stages, mid C16 and c.1600. 2 storeys; the cross-wing
to left with attics. Timber-framed and roughcast. Plaintiled roof with axial
chimney of red brick. Mainly early C20 small-pane casements. C20 glazed
panelled entrance door in lean-to plaintiled porch. A 3-cell mid C16 house
forms the main range, but a further bay formerly at the right-hand end has
been swept away; it probably contained the service cell, as a cross-passage is
now at the end of the house. Good plain timber-framing, and evidence for a
crownpost roof whose rafters were reused in the new roof of c.1600. The
chimney and parlour cross-wing to left were added c.1600; good framing with
ovolo-moulded main beams and clasped-purlin roof. At this time the earlier
parlour and hall were united.
