Public house,late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations and additions.
Whitened brickwork with stone slate and tile roof coverings. Built in
three levels, one bay-2 storey and attic, 2 bays-2 storeys, with added
single storey C20 addition (north). The higher single bay section has
a five-course-deep first floor band and a blocked first floor window.
Fully glazed door with glazing bars and wing lights fronted by single
storey brick gabled porch with pair of boarded and studded doors with
false strap hinges. Altered 5-light flush casements, some with top
hung vents. The 2-storey section has a saw-tooth eaves band and a
gable-end stack, the higher section has a mid-ridge stack. The single
storey wing north is of no special interest.
Interior: Bevelled beams and exposed ceiling joist in the higher
single bay section. Included for group value.
