Cast iron mile post circa 1820 600mm high and 150mm in diameter. This has a
curved-on-plan indication panel, which makes a "T" with the post, and is surmounted
by an acorn shaped finial. The panel is divided into three sections by raised
cast iron bead and reads "Cranage", in capital letters in the upper full width
panel. "To Knutsford 7 miles" on the south arm and "To Holmes Chapel 1 mile"
on the north arm.
