SK 14 NW STANTON C.P. STANTON

2/188 Wellcroft Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. C18 with later alterations and additions. Coursed,
squared and dressed large stone blocks; clay tile roof with coped
verges; ashlar integral end stack and brick ridge stack. Originally
2-room plan with lobby entry to north side and south door opposite
staircase extending up west side of stack, later extended to east
to include a dairy. 2 storeys; 3 roof bays, vertical joint between
house to right and dairy to left; iron casements to ground floor
right and centre and to first floor right; door to right of centre.
Interior: Centre room has exposed chamfered ceiling beams and corbelled
fireplace with moulded mantelpiece as cornice.
