Welfare Park

II

Memorial to 1st and 2nd World Wars. c.1920. Sandstone with commemorative tablets
of grey granite. Tall, 2-stage square pedestal with projecting canted corners on
stepped and moulded base. Lower stage has 2 tablets in moulded surrounds and
deeply coved cornice. Narrower upper stage with single commemorative tablet flanked
by 2 slightly over-life-size figures on canted corner plinths, of an infantryman
and sailor.

Memorial surmounted by a winged female figure on a stepped and moulded base.
