8/152 The Croft

GV II

Former row of cottages, now single house. Early C19. Coursed rubble
stone, dressed stone voussoirs and keyblocks to flat window heads. Slate
roof, two chimney stacks. Two storeys, three bays. 3-light leaded
casements. Central modern door in gabled brick porch. Left-hand bay
has 2-light leaded casement in blocked doorway to right. Two storey
brick extension to left, chequered to first floor, with slate roof,
dentilled eaves and stack to right. Garage doors and paired leaded
casement to ground floor, two similar 3-light casements with cambered
heads to first floor. Gable has dovecote with projecting ledges of
brick in roughly pedimental form.
