Wall and statue. 1938 by Sir Edwin and Robert Lutyens; statue late C18/early
C19. Limestone ashlar; statue possibly Coade stone. Low ashlar wall extends from
the left corner of the west front of the mansion; the standing lion at the outer
end has one paw resting on a sphere. One of a pair of walls incorporating the
lions which formerly ornamented the pediment of the earlier mansion.
