Terrace of houses. 1829 by T.E.Owen. 3-storeys and attics, painted stucco, slate mansard roof. Centre and ends of Crescent, Ionic pavilions, the centre having 6 free-standing Ionic columns and the end pavilions having 4 engaged Ionic columns. All the columns stand on plinths, with moulded caps and bases, and support an entablature. The ground floor is rusticated and the end pavilions have 3 arched openings, the centres having 2 openings. The end pavilions form a single house, the centre 2 including one bay on either side. The end pavilions are linked to the centre by 15 bays. The ground floor is under a colonnade of Greek Doric fluted columns with entablature and blocking course. The roof of this forms a balcony on the first floor with a delicate cast iron railing. Each house in the link has 2 small dormer windows, 2 windows on the second floor and 2 pairs of French casements on first floor. Half-glazed entrance doors with rectangular fanlights of various designs. The majority of the upper windows have shutters. The Crescent was intended to be the centrepiece of a new marine town called Anglesea, after its promoter the Marquis of Anglesey. Only half the crescent and a few flanking houses were built.
