Windley Hall
13.2.6 II
House. Early C19. Red brick, cement rendered. Hipped Welsh slate
roofs. Rendered lateral stacks and one ridge stack. Cornice and
low parapet or blocking course. Three storeys. South elevation of
three plus three bays. left part is symmetrical and slightly
taller. Broad gabled central porch on fluted columns with glazed
pedimented gable. Within is a round-arched doorway with deep
concave surround and outer reeding. C20 glazed door, fanlight,
flanked on each side by large square bays with cornice and flat
roof. Each bay has a tripartite sash under channelled wedge
lintel. Blind boxes. Two similar windows above, either side of
a glazing bar sash. Three similar but smaller windows above again.
Right hand three bays project slightly and are of two storeys.
The ground floor has a recessed tripartite sash and a large
projecting C20 garage. Three glazing bar sashes above. Set back
to the left is an additional single bay with a glazing bar sash
to each floor and a plain first floor band. Conservatory beyond.
Interior: Geometrical Hoptonwood Stone staircase, top lit, with
iron balustrade and wreathed handrail. Hall farmhouse attached to
rear and not of listable quality.
