C18. Painted brick facade with brick eaves cornice and old tiled roof. 2 storeys.
4 windows, the outer window bays recessed. No 40 has a C19 shop window of 3 lights
and door to south, ogee arches with vertical glazing bars only and cornice above.
Rest, sash windows with moulded boxed frames, those of No 42 with glazing bars
(some replacements). No 40 has a doorway with fluted pilasters, pediment and semi-circular
tympanum.
Nos 40 to 46 (even) form a group with Nos 41 to 45 (odd) and with Nos 2 to 6 (even)
Castle Street, Titchfield. (Nos 2 to 6 (even) are buildings of local interest).
