House, formerly 2 cottages. C16/C17, with C18 and later refacing and sham
framing. Cruck-framed with brick walls. Possibly two builds. Thatch roof to
front, corrugated iron to rear. Stacks to ridge and end. One storey plus attic;
3-window range. C18 plank door within moulded wood architrave with bases. Ground
storey windows are C19 three-light casements, that to left with brick lintel. 4
dormers to roof are C19 casements, that to right a C20 two-light casement. Small
wing to rear. This was part of a third cottage, now demolished. Interior: two
bays to right have 2 pairs of cruck blades with tie-beams and collars in attic
storey. Possibly one further cruck where cottages adjoin, only the upper part
now remaining. Most beams to ground storey are chamfered, some with ogee stops.
Some original plank doors.
